I have to confess that my own Birmingham twang has its critics (how many times is the 'thickie' in a TV show from Brum?). However, I claim that the neighbouring Black Country accent(s) and dialect(s) are far more off-putting and unintelligible. Ar cor onderstand payple frum Wulveromtun!!!

Scouse unquestionably, a whiney sing-song professional victim grizzle noise.
The other accents are nowhere near as annoying, they just make the speaker sound intolerably thick.

Scouse, because it doesn't matter where you are. You can be in a crowded room and the only discernable voice will be a shrill liverpudlian! Makes me cringe!
