Why do ants kiss each other while crossing?

i will explain u by the following eg;
consider a group of ants.some of the ants in that group will have the ability to secrete a special fluid.so an ant possessing this ability will secrete that fluid on the desired path.other ants by detecting the presence of fluid will move on tht path(due to thier highly accurate detection ability).that's why, v always see ants moving in a line coz' they r all detecting the fluid.they actully collapse wid oneanother during their walk.
if u c ants moving in a line,cut off their line by rubbing a drop of water in thier way.u'll c that eventually,they'll disperse and after sometime,they will again start moving in a line.hope u understand,do it practically.

They are checking out the chemical signature of the other ant to see if its one of their cousins from their ant hill world or an enemy(any other ant).

Its looks like theyer kissing but they're using their antannae to comunicate, smell, and see if that ant there' touching is harmful. they're blind so the kind of need to bump into each other

It is probably a kind of communication. They may be telling where the food is or trying to identify each other.
