It pains me to say it but Rolex.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate they are very good brand and I wouldn't turn one down if it was given to me (I just wouldn't choose to buy one). But, because most people see them as the highest quality watch in the high street, they are therefore 'deemed' to be THE BEST. Now, this narks me as I've been selling watches from Seiko, Tissot and Gucci up to Audemars Piguet, Breguet and Ulysse Nardin for around 17 years now and I know there are brands that knock the spots of Rolex and are certainly more exclusive.

When you compare Rolex and TAG Heuer there really isn't any competition. Rolex hold their value considerably and if you manage get hold of the more exclusive steel sports models you can almost double you money as soon as you've walked out the shop.

TAG have a wider selection of styles (Rolex have one or two styles in 3 sizes and several dial colours) but are not made to the same standard as Rolex. However, the 'Classic' range of watches (namely Monaco, Carrera, Monza, etc) are so much classier than any of the Oyster models. Now get a Limited Edition one of these and you have an EXCLUSIVE watch. If TAG ever produce the Monaco V4 it will revolutionalise the industry.

To pick between the brand as a whole, I would have to say Rolex have the edge, but they need to watch their backs. People are getting wise to 'other options', removing the blinkers limiting their choice and are getting more selective in what they want out of a watch. If you put model against model, I think most watch officionados would snap up a Monaco V4 rather than continue to wait 5 years for a Daytona.

you gotta kidding me...

ROLEX!

personally i don't like Rolex that much, i'd rather pick something else because it's too bling and too boring. but still, it's 10000 times better than TAG Heuer.

the make quality on most TAG Heuer's are very very cheap, cheap movement, cheap material, cheap designs. the only good TAG Heuer uses Zenith movement which is another story. but all other TAG Heuer's are really not so good.

since LVMH group bought TAG Heuer, they have significantly raising the brand image by raising the price and some marketing skills. but in fact, it's still the same old TAG Heuer, just that young people now may find it really cool and "in fashion" to own a TAG Heuer.

The Tag Heuer... not as ostentatious as the Rolex. Rolex owners are really saying "Hey look at me, I have this massive great big time piece on my wrist tat you poor folk cant afford"... The Tag owners... "Okay, I can tell you the time just as accurately as a Rolex owner, only I'm smarter and sportier"

Tag, they are far more trendy looking.

Rolex are so old fashioned and practically everyone i know has got one or a cheap knock off of one...

I prefer tags they are far better and so much different.

Of the two, Rolex - but I prefer Raymond Weil. Nice and exclusive but not everyone bangs on about having one.

I am lucky enough to own a omega ladies speedmaster, but if I had the cash I would have a Jaeger Le-Coultre reverso.

Utter class.
