Have you tried putting them in a pillowcase before you put them in the machine and adding a large scoop of Vanish Oxi Action Whitening.

(UK) I had the same problem with my kids trainers I sprayed them first before putting them in the washing machine with SHOUT stain removing spray made by Johnson wax ltd. They came up a treat. I also put them into an old pillowcase as I didn't have a trainer net to stop the laces getting caught in the machine.. If you cant find it in the shops The freephone no is 0800-353-353 (Mon to Friday 9am-5pm for consumer advice. There are also Own Brand Sprays that you can buy eg:- Asda's own brand stain remover which is cheaper. Hope this helps

Rub in some toothpaste or you used to be able to get trainer whitener at Woolworths and places like that. Probably sell it in shoe shops. Probably just toothpaste in a different tube.
