The NYSE is different than other exchanges. While there are some exchanges in the US where stocks trading under $1 will maintain their listing, the NYSE is generally not one of them. You don't mention if you are an investor, or a company rep. I am assuming that you are an investor as a company rep has better places to go than Yahoo Answers. Assuming you are just an investor, there is nothing that you can do to keep the stock up (other than trying to manipulate the market which is illegal).
If you are a company rep, have you thought about a reverse split?

Falling below $1 do not cause any stocks to be delisted. There are currently 136 stocks that are below $1 in the US Markets that are not delisted.
Some of them fell from extremely great heights. An extreme example will be ANLT which fell from a high of $545 per share to close at $0.56 per share yesterday!
Anyone who tells you NYSE is different and that they automatically delist stocks below $1 is again completely lack of knowledge. Stocks trading in NYSE like MZ that fell to $0.76 from Over $30 about 10 years ago are still trading now.
The only reason why any stock would be delisted would be that it is being liquidated or has broken any SEC regulations or has broken any big time law...etc... If you feel uncomfortable, you should simply get out of the trade instead of risking more positions on it. All news are late news. No point staring at the news because by the time you see its liquidation news, it would already be too late.
Hope this helps.
