Key
-----
U - turn the TOP (up) side 90 (one turn) clockwise (U1 = same but anticlockwise)
R - right side one turn CW (R1 = anti CW)
L = left side one CW L1 = anticlockwise etc
B = back
D = Down (or bottom)
F = Front
corners first:-
This will get the corners in the right place but they wont be the correct orientation. To do this get one corner correct and put it in the top, front, right corner and cycle the incorrect ones with this move " U R U1 R1 L1 R U R1 L" repeat till they are all correct But require a twist to get the colours oriented.
Read this one twice and make sure you understand it!
You 'Twist' the corners with this move each time you repeat it the top right front corner will twist clockwise one third. *** This next move will mess the cube up until it is repeated 3 times.*** Once a corner is twisted you need to turn the top layer ( ¬ the whole cube) to get the second corner that requires a twist into position. To get the corners 'twisted' round put an incorrectly twisted corner in top right front position and do a F D F1 D1 F D F1 D1 ..... (the cube will be messed up until you repeat this move twice more). For some reason known only to mathematics genious' the exact number of 'orientations' required will leave the cube nearly done except for the 'edges'.
put the edge that's missing the piece into the front, right position and the actual edge piece itself into the top/upwards, back, position and (if the top colour is the same colour as the right side) o fthe cube use 'B1 U R2 U2 R2 U2 R2 U B' move to get it in there,
else if the top colour is the 'front' colour put the peice in the up left position and go ' U1 L F2 U2 F2 U2 F2 U2 L1 '
repeat these edge moves until cubes complete!
Good Luck
p.s. you will get it wrong a few times first, feel free to email me

I never got the hang of it either, even back in the eighties at uni, so i just give up or do one side and leave it somewhere you can only see that bit.
i used to get put off a bit by what others thought of those who could but i think you can get it on line and i have seen books on how to do it. i don't read much anyway.
good luck

I agree with Gremlin - the alternative is to video each move & just play it backwards.

If you don't have the wee book telling you how to do it, best thing is to pull it to bits, then re-assemble it correctly.
