If your empty inside, there is something in your life that is not fulfilling enough. I would sincerely suggest that you think about what you want in life and figure out the ways and or steps that would help you get there. After that...start the plan that you have outlined. If you still feel empty, then maybe you should re-evaluate your needs and wants and life your life accordingly to those needs and wants.

If all else fails....this is what I did a couple years ago when I was feeling depressed. Call up an old friend, ask to go out for a couple beers/drinks/some food. Go to a bar or pool hall if your too young. I highly suggest having a drink or too as this will let you be less shy...just don't make it a habit.... Challenge someone(s) to a game. Start up a conversation. Make a time to meet and play again or get their number. Hang out more often and go out more often. Make more friends.

You'll have a life if you go that route....but I can't guarantee that it will get rid of the emptiness. Most important thing to do is...prioritize your needs and wants....or just figure out your needs and wants and then go from there.

First, you need to be an advocate for your own health care. Start by getting a complete medical check-up and make sure your doctor *hears* you (if s/he doesn't listen, find another doctor). Make sure you are eating healthy foods (throw all the junk food out), take vitamins (especially B12, D, and Magnesium), and exercise every single day (even if it's just to get outside and walk). Next fill your life up by seeking out your purpose here (you do have one). Volunteer at a local hospital, school... someplace (maybe volunteer to be a sports referee); or take on a second job (something you'd enjoy like working at a movie theater, bowling alley, video game store, restaurant, etc.). The human mind, body, and spirit works well when it's productive to the point of exhaustion.

I'm sorry that you're feeling empty inside. Again, please first check in with a doctor. Depression is a huge medical condition but we now have the means to help people (but you have to be an advocate for YOU).

Remember... you are here for a reason. Be well and keep searching. We need you in this ol' world.

From this question (as well as others you’ve asked) you are quite young (under 20.) Such feelings are common at your age. What you do is find a subject to interest you. I don’t mean to ask what you find interesting, rather, make something interesting. For example, making and flying kites seems to be a rather simplistic activity, and from a superficial perspective it is, however, have you ever looked into how many different types of kites exist? Have you ever looked into what makes each type of kite fly? Do you know that there are many different clubs of kit fliers? Did you know that the International Organization of Kite Fliers had an 8 day meeting in Des Moines, Iowa, USA? Did you know that if you have large flat areas where you live, you can make a kite to pull you on a home made wheeled vehicle?

It isn’t that kite flying is important in and of itself, rather, even if you don’t find it interesting but still take the time to really get into it, it will become interesting and it will create a fulfillment of life that you don’t find presently and it costs very little to do this.

If you don’t like kites, how about looking at beetles? How many different types live in your area? How does each one live differently that do others? What do they do that indirectly contribute to your life?

How about trees in your area? How many different types of trees are there? How long do they live? Why do some live in one area but not in another? What is the wood of each tree type used for? Do they have fruit of nuts which are usable? How do they contribute to your local economy?

The point is, you are in charge of “filling” your life and there is no end to the things with which you can get involved.

Please Read The Whole Thing!

i used 2 ask the same question til i found an answer- relationship. but not just any- one with God. wen i first started lookin into this i tried a bunch of religius stuff, but nuthin worked. then i heard about one person- his name was jesus christ. many people consider christianity a religion but it isnt. it only is to false christians who make us all look bad. i read some things in the bible about how christ came to the earth and lived a perfect life then was crusified by his own kind for claiming to be God. it was after he had died the ressurected three days later some realized wat they had done. there was still a second chance tho. it dosen't matter wat you've done, he can sve you. he can promise you eternal salvation in heaven, and a life filled with completeness and joy. plus, once you get it, you cant lose it. he will always be there for you. all he wants is your life and trust put in him. I AM LIVING PROOF THAT THIS IS TRUE. i've tried everything else you can think of, but this is the only thing that works and sustains. others can tell you the same thing. once you've accepted him and decided to be different then the rest of the world, then join a baptist church and get a copy of the bible(try new international version) and you'll be amazed at how much more grateful you are of life! P.S. if people at the baptist church are too picky or mean, try a different one, because some baptist churches are a lot more welcoming than others. the one i go to is really nice(see sources), it's where i became a believer. it also has a private skool, that i go to- central florida christian academy.
Good Luck!

much luv,
jessi

To get a life, you need to get out and get active with friends and family both, if your family is falling apart because of a single person, it can be extremely depressing, even if you feel like you don't care.

To get rid of the emptiness, remember that somebody that you know cares for you, even if they don't show it often.

You can't fill the bucket without pouring out the original contents.

To be re-fill that bucket and be fulfilled one must learn to give. Become a servant to the community in some manner that is appealing.
From gifting one's time and experience to this Y! Answers to teaching to participating in the larger sphere, one rids the emptiness by draining oneself and being refilled.
Holding on to all your stuff, be it time or knowledge -- one just ends up with their hands full and unable to do anything but feel ..empty.

Peace.

You need to keep diggin at what makes you empty, this is the hard part Then ask a question about what do you have to do to not be empty. THere is always is a reason. For every action there is a reaction.

See this life as an adventure. A brief sojourn into a world of experience. Like any vacation it will come to an end but man can we have a good time while we are here.

One way is love. It can be for a life partner or a son/daughter that may be biological or adopted. It could also be broader, in the sense of "love for humanity", though I think that may not be the most rewarding because humanity won't love you back. These broader actions *can* also lead to isolation and/or radicalism.

Life begins from within you. It is not from external sources. What are your interests? goals? hopes and dreams? You only get out of life what you put into it.
