Unless you are a business with a merchant account for accepting credit cards, your only options for offering payment are Paypal, money order, cashier's check, or personal check - when you set up your auction these are the choices eBay will give you & you can choose which ones you will accept. All you will need to accept payment through Paypal is a Paypal account which is free. When I list on eBay I accept Paypal, money orders, & cashier's checks (it's fine to take personal checks but you have to wait for them to clear). You don't need to worry about taking someone's credit card #, because if a person chooses Paypal as their form of payment they do everything through Paypal's site.

You have to go through PayPal. You can sign up through ebay. It's the easiest method of payment because it's confidential and legal, and everyone usually uses this to pay for their items or when you want to purchase something, you can pay with this account. You can either sign up with a checking account number or a credit card. It's better with a checking account because when you pay people, it doesn't charge them fees.

Go to ebay.com and then click on the HELP tab at top. You'll get a menu with lots of options. Under the "SELLING" category, choose "OVERVIEW" to start, and then read through the materials. It will give you guideance directly from Ebay.

Good luck with the sale!!
