That is the challenge Flag. If there is a play that is allowed to be challenged, the use of instant replay, they will throw the red flag to get the ref to go to the booth and look at an instant replay to decide if they call on the field was correct. Ok to make another point they are either challenging the play that was made, you know saying the reciever didn't have possession so it should have been incomplete or other challenges, OR they are questioning the placing of the ball.

the red flag is a challenge flag the coach throws it whenever the referee makes a cal that the coach doesn't agree with but the coach can only throw the red flag for plays that can be challeneged such as incomplete passes or fumbles that he feels should be overturned i hope i helped you at all

They are challenging an officials call on the field. They are limited to a certain number a game and if they lose the decision they also lose a timeout. They cannot challenge a call in the last two minutes of a game.

the red flag thrown means to challenge the call that the refs made then the refs will reveiw it and either overturn the call or the team who challenged it will lose a timeout for the call standing, but you cannot challenge in the the last 2 minutes of a half or game

Its a challange flag. If they think that the referees are wrong on the call they throw it and then the referees will review the play. If the original call was right then the team loses a timeout.
