I already finished the One Island/Hoenn Network sidequest in Fire Red....I want to know when in Ruby/Sapphire can i trade with my FR game and what will i need to do (e.g are there any items i need or events to be triggered?)

On Ruby and Sapphire you can start trading between versions automatically. Just use the wireless link or connect the two gameboys with a link cable.
In Fire Red/Leaf Green however, you'll need to get the Ruby and Sapphire plates in the islands in order to trade.

As soon as you have the ruby and the sapphire gems, give them to to the dude next to the huge machine at the one island pokecenter. Then you should be able to trade. You don't have to do anything on ruby or sapphire, just on Firered and Leafgreen.

you need two gameboy's and you will need to connect them with the wire and then go into the pokemon center and go to the top floor and there will be NPC will ask you if you want to trade your Pokemon. you can get more info from http://www.gamefaqs.com or http://www.cheatcc.com

You can't, the only way is to transfer them onto Diamond or Pearl but that is a one-way process.
