I tried an alarm clock, putting them to bed earlier, bribes etc... I am still having a hard time. Any suggestions?

When you learn the answer please post it. Ha! My fiance has a 17 year of daughter who is awful at getting up. She finally took her cell phone from her and computer internet was removed also. This girl was to get up and be to school - grade 12, on time for two weeks before she had these privileges returned. Well it has been a week now and guess what she is very capable of getting up and going to class on time as she has done so for past week. The cell phone and MSN messenger seem to have been the carrot to motivate this girl and hopefully next week she will have this returned. If you have similar things that would end your child's life if they couldn't have them (Ha!) try taking them away and see if it works for you also. Best of luck.

A common problem with children, especially Teen agers.

You can bribe them..smiles with a Dollar

Loud Music wakes most people up.

You can try The Tough Love thingie.....with hold privaleges...Televison...cell phone....Home phone...and the Life line of all: THE COMPUTER....more smiles.

It really depends on the ages of the children....Young children ages 5 - 8.....you really need to be gentle with them.

Ages 10 and above.....You need to use some caution.

I sought help in dealing with my 2 teen age girls... The Bottom line was, It is their Bedroom..... It is their life. So, I left the door closed and let them Fend for Them Selves. In time, they matured and they were up at the crack of dawn, when a Gf or Bf was taking them skiing or going to a Beach or what ever.

Try different approaches and find one or two that works for you and the children.

Good Luck....keep us posted, Please.

Thanks,

Mav

I use to have that problem, I don't so much anymore. I will go to their rooms and turn on their lights, and tell them to get up until I see them waking up, if they still haven't gotten up, I will stand there and say over and over until they do get up, to get up, sometimes I will turn the lights off and on until they get up, sometimes I will even go over and shake them, or spank their butts.
