I need to keep track of my grades using microsoft excel but i am not sure how to. For example if tests count for 35% of my grade and homework counts for 15% of my grade etc... how would i set up the spread sheet?

You simply record your test grades in one column, and homework grades in the second column. Here is an example:
|----|-A--|-B--|-C--|-D--|
|-1-|-90-|100|-----|-----|
|-2-|-95-|-95-|-----|-----|
|-3-|-85-|-84-|-----|-----|
|-4-|--*--|-92-|-----|-----|
|-5-|-----|-**--|-----|-----|
If column 'A' are your test grades and column 'B' are your homework grades, then in the cell A4 (*), you type in:
=Average(A1:A3)
and then press enter, the average comes out. In the example, you should get 90.
Since tests count for 35%, multiply 90 by 0.35 (90 x 0.35 = 31.5).
Then in the cell B5 (**), type in:
=Average(B1:B4)
and press enter, the averages come out. In this example, you should get 92.75.
Since homework counts for 15%, multiply 92.75 by 0.15.
(92.75 x 0.15 = 13.9125)
15%+35%=50%, so when you add 31.5 and 13.9125, you get 45.4125, which is 50% of your grade. I don't know the rest of the curriculum, so I cannot make up an example to show you how to do the rest, but if you multiply 45.4123 by 2 it will be 100% of your grade, which is 90.825. Unless you got a bad grade on the other 50% of your curriculum, which I doubt.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Hey, ignore people who call you names.
100 points = A
90 = b
first cell/column................................2nd cell/column
.35 x (grades for tests) .15 x (grade for homework)
the final block, adds all of the calculated areas of grading.

..............A....................B
1....Hmwk Grade..........=A1*.15
2....Test Grade.............=A2*.35
Continue to do this for each assignment. There are other shortcuts, but if you do not know excel they could be confusing.

Why don't you ask it to your black friend, yes, the one right in front of you? Why do you go to yahoo answers to ask it? Sounds like racism.
