There are 100 pts to the carat

There are 100 points to a carat. That means a 60 point stone is a little over half a carat. Not too big, but it may be a nice cut and of good clarity. If you are thinking in terms of purchasing a diamond, do a lot of research before. Go to a reputable store and get a certified appraisal. It is very easy to over pay and get scammed when buying diamonds.

60 points is 0.6 of a carat. Take care when buying a diamond, there are a lot of 'certificates' out there. Anyone can print one up, even certificates from reputable organisation like Anchor Cert, can be forged.
Like anything you buy, go to a well-established supplier who will be there if you have a problem.
Look at the diamond and buy a diamond you like and not a piece of paper.
