How do I deal with melancholy?
Easy. We all know it's going to happen to us sometimes. I guess some people do feel blue more often than others. But what should you do about it?
Embrace it. Have fun being sad. Trust me, I'm a teenager. It's practically my job to act depressed and moody 24/7.
When I feel sad, I try to enjoy it. I wear black, dark, baggy clothing. I read Edgar Allen Poe. I don't smile. I don't even try to cheer myself up. I turn my sadness into something glamorous and dark. When I have to be around people, I act really sad and when they ask why, I have fun coming up with exotic and creative excuses for my feelings. You know, being happy all the time is overrated, not to mention impossible. Heck, even JESUS couldn't do it, and he WAS the son of God, you know.

That's not to say happiness is a bad thing. But when the blues come, don't fight them too hard.

Melancholy is my life. I don't know how to deal with it. I wish I did, because it's getting old.

I have a few ways to deal...Listening to music, reading books to escape the real world, and exercise. There's nothing like running track while listening to music really loud. I really like what one girl said about embracing it and making it a glamorous thing. That is how I made it through high school...

I think it happens to most people, but, I can really only speak for myself...yes it happens more than I would like to admit.

You have to get yourself to adjust and renew your thinking when you get menancholy...and, be thankful for what you have, and try to get yourself out of it...

and, realize this will pass...

hope your okay
