A Thanksgiving flower arrangement (centerpiece, I don't think it is in bad taste, they can always place it elsewhere in the house as a lovely holiday touch) , a nice bottle of wine or good pies (home made or from a bakery)

Oh, no. Not another question about Thanksgiving. We're not all American.
For the gift, I'd suggest a bottle or three of wine.

a dish to compliment the meal
its bad taste to bring flowers unless you tell the host family in advance, they will have already decided on a center piece. flowers are nice but require the hosts to stop what they are doing and arrainge them and then find a place to put them
wine is good, so long as you aren't assuming it will be used for today's meal, it should be given as a gift
and next time think ahead!

Wine, if they drink...a good dessert, if they don't. If they tell you not to bring anything, maybe a bunch of flowers.
