Respect is earned, not demanded. Looks like you've got quite a way to go to earn any from anybody... at home or on here.

She is your WIFE not your SLAVE!! You need to learn to have some respect....didn't YOUR parents teach you that. Marriage is a 50/50 thing, it is about give and take. You treat them the way you want them to treat you. You sound as though you have no respect for her what so ever, if you have no respect for her, how is she suppose to have respect for you?

Don't be surprised if one of these days you wake up and she is gone,. Don't say it can't or won't happen cause it can happen. Once someone gets their belly full of crap they will leave.

I agree wuih many of the above but you have four choices:

1. Treat her mean and keep her keen
2. Realise that you are fighting a losing battle and accept a compromise.
3. Get divorced and hire a cleaner!
4. Buy her flowers and say please

My prefered option would be a combination of 2 & 4

Your wife is not your inferior, nor are you her "elder" regardless of your age. You're married, she is your PARTNER, meaning equals. If you can't handle being on equal footing with a woman, then you had no place getting married to her in the first place.

The caveman days are done, by the way. No longer are you allowed to dictate the rules while she walks on eggshell and does your bidding. The law grants her equal rights.

How much can you love your wife to want to demean her, in the first place? You're a pathetic excuse for a man.

Because she is your wife! No matter if you are older than her or not she is not your slave and shouldn't have to listen to your every demand. Marriage is a shared responsibility and you do control her in any way. There is not one good excuse for you to expect her to do everything you ask her. You can't teach her to respect you if she doesn't already. Maybe you need a crash course in how to treat a woman like a lady instead of your personal slave.

You sound like a chauvinistic pig to me...what happened to equality?? Times HAVE changed bucko and marriage is not about you telling your wife what to do and how to do it all the time...she has a mind of her own and have you ever heard of civil rights? She sounds like a henpecked wife, don't know how she put up with you for long coz if it was me i would have kicked you up the *** by now, and not taking any orders from a man!! Even if he is my husband... :) (and i'm not a butch feminist either). Give your wife a break!!

Sounds like you need serious therapy. My husband is 21 years older than me and he doesn't concider himself as my "elder". He's my husband. We are equal partners. We are as one. You really need to grow up. Is she the same "wife" that you want to poison her food to make her abort a baby??? You are really messed up in the head. Yeah I have read the rest of your questions and I think you need to get a life and stop wasting space on here.

Well you are not her parent but her equal. Perhaps she may be more open to your requests if you were to ask rather then tell her what to do. Respect works in both directions, and as such you need to show her respect and not act like a dictator towards her.

Your wife is not your child but your partner in life. The person who you have decided to live the rest of your live with. Respect is received wend is given. Talking down, commanding and raising your tone will not get her to see, or hear you; no matter what's your point.

You want respect, give respect!
Respect!!!!!!!!!!

If you wanted a daughter you should have adopted one. Being 22 years olders than your wife does not make you her father.
