I usually beat my own drum unless I get tired & bored then I go with the flow & back again.

I rather not go with the flow because it tends to place me in shallow waters. I choose to march to the beat of my own drum and I have my own unique drum sticks too.

i think you can and should do both. it's nice if you are willing to go with flow instead on insisting it always be your way, which can be a drag because then you are always trying to get them to go with your flow. but it is good if you feel strongly about something to be willing to be different, even if no one else understands or wants to go that way. blending both for what is needed at the time.
