Lots of people change their style of music whether they are from the US or not...
And to me, she does not look that different...she lightened her hair a little and fluffed it up. Her clothes are a little revealing, but her clothes were still tight in Colombia.
The type of music she was playing in Colombia is probably the type playing in the US at the time as well. It is not what is popular now. The most successful people are those that can adapt to change.
