This site is good they have lots of things for kids to make and they are really simple to make!
Your kid's could make a snow man just get an empty large yoguart pot and then roll up a ball of newspaper for a head and stick on the top glue on cotton wool onto the pot and head next stick some buttons on the front of your snowman and some for eyes get a bit of material for a scarf for a nose cut out a cone shape from card colour orange and add small buttons for a mouth to make a hat cut out a circle from card colour black then cut out a rectangle colour black and wrap round the card circle stick together then make a bigger circle colour in again then stick to what you have just made this makes the snow mans hat stick on his head and there you go! Makes a great decoration. Your kids could make there own little display!

Even thou the site is american, i think some of the craft things you can do is great fun, also includes ideas for recipes and party planning.

search google, theres tons of sites like that, good luck. Spraying pinecones with fake snow or glitter and attaching string makes really nice christmas tree decorations!
