Oh god...let me tell you. The doctor told me to take mine out before my uterus started getting big enough to show and I didn't listen. I took it out at about 4 months and I noticed that I had a tiny stretch mark from it. Now I'm 34 weeks and I have the ugliest looking stretch mark at the top where my hole is. The hole is stretched so bad it looks ugly. And the only reason why it's like that is because I had the ring in while I was growing. My advice to you - take it out before it's too late! You will regret it later if you don't!

First of all, you wont be able to take out your navel piercing until it has healed 100%, which takes about 6 months - a year, depending on how you look after it. Also, even after this healing period, you should not remove your belly button piercing for longer than an hour. It would be ideal if you didn't take it out at all... You could be able to find a clear belly bar, which would be almost invisible, if you can get one small enough to hide the metal, or you could get a plastic bar (instead of metal). My friend tried to hide hers from her mother and father, but it is almost impossible, especially in summer, when you want to be showing it off, not hiding it! Good Luck Though...

No you do not. Although, when you have an ultrasound, they may ask you to remove just for the scan. There are some that you can but specifically for pregnancy, but depending on how yours is positioned, you may not have any problem at all. I have had mine pierced for like 6 or 7 years and I am now 33 weeks along with this pregnancy and have not any trouble at all. I had a little extra fat on my belly when I had mine done, so now ther eis plenty of room for it to stretch. It really depends on your belly button and the position of your piercing. I would just suggest that you remove it if it becomes uncomfortable.
Good luck and Congratulations!

I took mine out at about 10 weeks. The doctor told me the next day that he recommended women take them out because they can cause a huge stretch mark across your belly. Even without the ring in, my piercing still looks a little stretched and funny. I have also heard that they can get pushed forward and break through the skin, which can cause a bad infection and would certainly be painful. However, the piercing cannot harm your baby. It's up to, you just have to decide if it's worth the risk of a stretch mark.

No you are not required to take out your piercing. My doctor recommended it, but left it up to me with my first child. He gave me this website http://www.pregnancypiercings.com/ . They sell navel rings and CBR's that are made of a special plastic that are great if you have to have surgery or are having a baby. The rings flex and don't have any metal, unless you order the metal ends. I loved mine, but I did end up taking it out before I got pregnant this time, but not due to stretching or ripping(had problems with it at work).

nope you can buy 1s that are for pregnant women. my cousin had some really nice 1s, some that are more like a bendy plastic rather than soild bar.
but she did take it out if the baby moved to much and put pressure on it.

no, but I think you will want to!! I did when I was 4 months because TRUST me it will stretch and then it will get sooo thin and look bad! mine is still a little thin and I need it re-pierced so it will look good again.

I had mine done and once i got to 25 weeks of pregnancy, it started to be uncomfortable and my Dr told me that i didn't have to take it out that it was up to me. Which this is my second pregnancy, so I started to show earlier.Ask your Dr and see what he/she has to say about it. Thats what I did.

Most Definitely! That thing would pull right out. But you could probably wait about 3 or 4 months, until you have the little bump.

Not at all, they have a pregnancy ring for it. It's just thinner than a normal one. Just look it up on a search engine.
