im a carpenter in buffalo ny. u can install a roof any time of the year but if your looking for the purfect time i would have to say around middle april to end of april

roofing shingles have dried tar on the back of them. when they are laid on your roof, the heat from the sun will loosen up the tar a little and create a seal on to the next shingle preventing it from lifting up.

so in essance the best time would b some time there is decent sunny weather anywhere from a temp of 55-60 and up is fine.

make sure u have ice and water barrier put on too. it will save your roof by the gutters!!! good luck take care god bless

Dave is correct. With the cost of installing a roof you want to do it right only once. Wait untill spring if you can.

spring before the summer...so shingles can heat up and seal and be ready for winter
