Well not much said about UK - in UK (over here) its Football right, and I dont mean the type you pick up and run around with instead of kicking it.

I couldn't find any statistics on the internet, so I thought individuals from the You-Ess-Of-Ayy might give me some insight - I know that there is Basketball, Baseball, Hockey and NFL

the answer to your question is found in the TV ratings, that's the true measure of who's watching what. so according to the neilson ratings, football is by far the most popular sport in america. NASCAR is second, baseball 3rd, and basketball 4th. soccer isn't even a blip on the radar screen, in fact very few soccer games are on TV here. the pro leauge does not have a network TV contract, because we really don't care about soccer here.

The most watched sporting type event on TV is Nascar racing. That's not a guess, it's true. Talledega Speedway in Alabama holds 160,000 people and it's always full, plus the TV coverage. Other than that, I would think football but baseball has more than one game a week whereas football is once a week. Hope this helps. Happy Thanksgiving.

American Football for sure. It used to be Baseball but now the Super Bowl has more viewers than the World Series.

If you are talking about watching.....TV ratings show Football is #1 in popularity. Playing.....would say basketball. Baseball/softball takes 2nd to both of these.

sports in the US

By number of players - soccer is number 1, because it is easy to play, with little equipment required. This is mostly played by children, which probably accounts for 90% of the players, but it still has more players than any other sport in the US.

NFL is a religion to millions. It is sad, in my opinion.
NBA
MLB
NHL

soccer does not rank

Baseball is and always will be America's favorite sport.

The most popular though (as another poster alluded to) is soccer. It is indeed the sport with the most people participating. However...as popular as Soccer is (participation wise)....it is not close to the top of the lilst of Americans favorite sport.

NASCAR? Wow...I cannot believe someone actually voted for NASCAR.
