I was wondering if any one knows if the new movie with Mathew McConaughey is about the West Virginia Marshall football team?

Yes. The movie is based on true incident with the Marshall University Thundering Herd football team, when in 1970, the plane carrying them to a game versus East Carolina crashed, killing almost the entire team.

Yes it is. I can't remember the title it something like We Are Marshall, but it comes to theaters on December 22. I actually attend the college Marshall was played the day of the crash.
