I would wait a year until they drop the price, unless your parents are millionaire's and can afford a $500 gift. If your paying for it wait until it drops because the price is ridiculous. Plus the prices of games are up the roof, $60 bucks for a game come on..lol.. If you are in school and work at like a grocery store or something that's like how much you make in a week..lol. I would wait a while then buy used games.. to save some cash.. It will be worth it.

Yes the PS3 is worth the price. Besides for having games in HD it allows you to watch Blu-ray DVDs in HD. Almost all Blu-ray DVD players cost at least $1000, and also you can browse the Internet with the PS3 and use mp3 players and digital camera cards with it, which makes the PS3 an extremely good deal.
P.S. With all the technology in the PS3, most sources say that Sony is losing $200-$300 on each one they sell.

There is a reason for the delayed release date of the PS3, they're perfecting it, they're pushing gaming technology to it's limit. it's going to kick ***! Trust me. X-Box 360 is a stupid useless console and it's intentions are to squeeze as much money out of you as possible by making you buy extra hardware just to play original X-Box games on it. Pathetic. All PS1 and PS2 games will work on PS3 no problem. PS3 will triumph!

In a year, it will be cheaper, and JUST as popular, and even have more games available... The only reason to buy now would be to say you have one.
