Yes we do still have Harvest Festival, its usually late September/October, its to celebrate the farmers bringing in the years crops from the fields and yes children do take items of food into schools/churches and it is distributed amongst the elderly in local communities.

Yes we still have a Harvest festival, it is usually just before half term, end of September - depending on the school. They normally get it to coincide with your weekly shop!

This is usually around Autumn time in Britain (September/October) as it was traditionally a time to celebrate harvest time - gathering grain and other things that were grown. The celebration was often timed in conjunction with a full moon.

Yes, but alongside other traditional festivals, like Michaelmas, is no longer widely celebrated.

It seems to me that both pagan and Christian festivals are being discriminated against, in favour of Moslem celebrations.

Political correctness has a lot to answer for.

It's in September, people still have to take all the crap in the kitchen cupboards that their parents don't want anymore to school, to give it to poor people.
