In order for the ticket to stand, you need to meet the definition of a parking violation. If the ticket is completed properly, the ticket will stand.

Why would you be sitting in a handicapped space anyway? That's just rude and it prevented anyone that was actually handicapped from being able to park there. It doesn't matter if you're in NY or CT, if you don't have a placard or plate that allows you to be there, you shouldn't be.

Maybe if you were handicapped, you would understand why this is against the law.

A parking violation does not necessarily mean a parking meter was involved, so there does not have to be a meter number. You could be simply parking in a no-parking zone, parking at wrong times, and so on. In your case, you were illegally parked in a handicap space. The police officer gave you a chance to move and you didn't so you got the ticket.

I had the same thing once but the license plate number on the ticket was illegible, so that saved me.

you could contest something you elect. If the meter grew to become into nevertheless not fed and you have been nevertheless parked you're nevertheless in violation. maximum places have regulations in place asserting no new tickets (comparable violation) for a undeniable quantity of time, in many circumstances 20-half-hour.
