1. It would be political suicide for the dems to attempt such a thing.
2. If we get a draft, it will be Charlie Rangel's baby.
3. Wait until your new Congress takes their seats, and watch what they do.
4. The veto power is just that: The President's right to veto. It's true for every President, and Mr. Bush did not invent it.
Happy Thanksgiving.

They won't. Every political strategist said that the Democrats banged out their message about the war to gain power (ie we got fooled). The only problem is that they know we can't leave. They don't have a plan. They all said they had a plan, but nothing has been delivered to the White House. Actually, Bush has a good record in Texas working with the opposite party. Anyway nothing has been delivered to him yet. (again we were ba-fooled when the Democrats all said they already had a plan.) Where is it?
FYI- We need to be in Iraq like we were in Germany, Italy, and Japan. We fought with Loyalist Japanese Emperor followers for years after WWII and German Loyalist. Germans never attacked our homeland. Yet everyone seems to think it was ok to attack them. Germans only attacked our ships supplying Britian before we entered and we were warned not to supply. Now we get attacked on our homeland and the Dem's want to cut and run. FYI we haven't won a war since WWII. Just like in Viet Nam the Democrats are saying we are losing we need to get out etc.. Why don't they shut the up and let America Finish the War like we did in WWI & WWII. They won't. They are more worried about getting to the White House than our Future.

Democrats were not voted in, Republicans were voted out. Americans do not support the cut and run attitude that liberals want.
Here is proof that Conservatives voted out Republicans
1. DeWine OH and Chaffee RI Both senators were part of the Gang of 14 who blocked judicial nominees. DeWine has infuriated Conservatives for years. 10% of Republicans voted for Brown, a far leftie. I guess anything was better than DeWine. OH is not a liberal state. Chaffee has never been a Republican and we just missed taking him out in the primary.
2. Putting aside the few seats lost in blue states like CT, NH, and NY, conservatives also took their wrath out on Congressman. There were 2 PA Congressman who were bounced: one for cheating on his wife (a divorce cost Asa Hutchinson his senate seat in AK a few years ago), and the other was Weldon, who was involved in a scandal where his daughter was given a cushy lobbying job. Then you have DeLay's seat, where a judge blocked having him removed from the ballot, yet a NJ judge 2 years earlier allowed Toricelli to be removed a few weeks before the election, which the Republican Forrester was winning, but lost when Lautenberg replaced Toricelli. Same thing with Mark Foley's seat. Both DeLay and Foley's seats are strong Republican districts. Expect those to go back in 2008.
Then you have Democrats running as conservative Democrats who won 3 seats in IN, Heath Shuler in NC, and there are others.
Overall, Democrats won seats in districts where there were corruption and moral issues. They ran as very conservative Democrats in the conservative districts that they won. There are Republicans that lost in marginal Republican districts, largely because of the dissatisfaction with Republicans nationally: Hayworth in AZ, Johnson and Simmons in CT, Sen Allen in VA, Talent in MO) Also note that Democrats won Senate seats in states where there was a minimum wage increase on the ballot. This was a very smart move. Dems get kudos for this one.
Your party has no mandate. You have no idea what you are talking about. I suggest you educate yourself and come back.

There is no victory for USA in Iraq. There will be no victory for USA in Iraq. When will the American people realize this basic truth? They came on strong with the greatest power in the world and picked on an unarmed weakling and they got whupped! Their credibility is shot. Who else will ever listen to them now? Once a bully is beaten his time is up. Stupidest thing they ever did was invading Iraq....TWICE!!!!!!

There are too many moderates who were recently elected for them to stop funding the war, our President will succeed in Iraq if everyone will get behind him and his military. the Democrats did win the majority but they did not gain sufficient numbers to override a veto, and if Congress attempts to cut funding for our military he will VETO.

If only it was as easy as your question. America will stay the course because it is our best option. President Bush still has his veto power. Did you ever think maybe you were fooled for your vote?

I am deeply ashamed of the American people putting people like Pelosi, Rangel, and Murtha in charge of the congress. They miss the whole point of the Iraq war, as does the media and TV news.

Well, he did liberate Iraq.
IMO the dems will sabotage anything and everything that Bush will try to do, and gleefully comment it all as his fault. It matters nothing to them that people will get killed as the result of these antics. The only thing that matters is "getting even" because he dared to win an election 6 years ago.

Shows how you support the troops .
Cut them off from pay , ammo, medical supplies , food , fuel , everything they need ?
How would you like a few million vets in revolt to support their sons and grandsons ? And OUR GIRLS TOO !
Every politician who voted for that B.S. would end up on the end of a rope .
