well I know of one:
In the Bible, 1 corinthians 13:4

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

That's not actually a question. But if I was doing that assignment I'd pick Wendy Cope's One perfect Rose, because it's so funny and very cynical about love. The poem that starts "Drink to me only with thine eyes" which I think is called To celia and is by Ben Jonson but I could be wrong and what's that one about the rose coming back to life when she breaths on it? Can't remember.

So what's the question?

Pablo Neruda has to be one of the poets you'd be discussing...

Good luck with your paper! :)
