I'll try an answer this, but I'm not sure that I can.
To ask a reason why, is to assume that there is reason behind humanity ie: specifically created in the image of another. This is a religious view and a matter of faith, which is not supported by the fact of observable and replicable science.
The evolutionary theory does not require there to be a question or an answer, because what happens genetically simply "is."
However, most thinking people would recognise that evolution is closely related to the delicate balance of nature, of which it is a part, and survival depends both upon the successful adaptation to the natural world and environment on the one hand, and successful procreation on the other.
Human beings, as an evolutionary entity, tend to be social animals, which makes them more efficient hunter gatherers and survivors. Few people therefore live in isolation, and most live within a community; either by accident of birth or by choice.
Again, this is simply "the way we are."
I cannot bring any scientific evidence to bear, but something which I have noticed about the range of human sexuality, is the observable phenomenon that people of certain specific sexualities, are more predisposed towards certain activities and occupations.
In a survey many years ago, the journal "Gay News" did a survey of gay people in the UK, whereby readers were asked to contribute to a poll of the readership. An unusually high proportion of gay men turned out to be hairdressers, musicians, actors, social carers and male nurses, and quite a few were academics.
If that survey was representative, we may be tempted to ask the reason why, but could it be that gay people are an essential part of the genetic spectrum, and therefore an important component in the survival game?
Perhaps a better question would be "why not?"
When asked in that way, we no longer have to find a reson FOR something, but a reason for NOT accepting something for what it is.....simply a significant part of the natural world.
I guess that's as clear as mud, isn't it?

For the same reason that some people are not gay. Think about it. And if there is truly nothing wrong with being gay, why the obsession that many people have with determining whether it's a genetic issue? Personally, I hope that if there is a gene that determines romantic preference, that gene is never found. I have a feeling there would be a concerted effort to breed us out of existence.
If there are gay people who you really care about, would you change them? And if you changed their being gay, what else might you unintentionally change about them? OK, so now you have two things to think about.
Happy Thanksgiving, if you're stateside that is.

I can only speak for myself. As far back as 8 I remember having a crush on a girl. By 10 kissing a girl and by 14 fooling around. No,it is not because I had a bad experience with a man. That is the way I have always felt. I tried dating guys but could never move to the next level. I hope that helps you and thanks for having an open mind.

It has always been a question, whether being gay is by nature (you are born with it) or by nurture (due to the environment or by choice). I say it is both.
As for my case, I was born with it. I already felt different when I was 4 years old. Can a 4 year old kid know what is wrong or right? I had no choice.
Some who are too horny simply choose to become bisexual or gay. Some however are unfortunate. They were molested and somehow grew up gay. Strangely others suddenly realize they are attracted to the same sex at a late age of 40.

I don't know how attraction works. Maybe we need to understand that and then get into sexuality.
Why do some like only brown eyes and some only blue. Why I like white men and my friend older women?
Who the hell knows.

They are born that way. It is no more a choice than to be born with six fingers on each hand or to be born Siamese Twins. You might as well ask why some people are heterosexual. That isn't a choice either...

Why not. It is not a life style choice. Given my time over I wouldn't change from "gay" to "straight,"
I can't imagine being "straight" would make me a better or happier person.

To understand you need to look no further than yourself. You are no different from professing homosexuals. Why do you desire what you desire? I will be surprised if anyone can answer that question. Desire is one of the fundamental pillars of life. It fuels passion and defies logic. Even the Christian God of the Bible is happy to subject himself to it. It's because of desire.

I am this way - cause my father never loved me or showed affection for me as his son & he never took me fishing/
My dad never did any activities together with me - so I could identify with him as a male role model. We never bonded . My dad was a tired old douchebag - a prissy old geezer.
Cause he deprived me of a father's love and presence, I will always seek male affection and approval - wherever I can find it.
parents are the main cause of causing their children to be queers or dykes. I swear it to God Almighty.
My parents are guilty for how I became, - and God will punish them severely for it.
