I've heard about using Sprite or Tylenol, but what really works?

Douglas Fir will hold the needles longer. What I do is keep plenty of water in the stand and not let it dry out. Then get a simple spray bottle and fill with water and mist down the tree a few times each day. Most of my ornaments the moisture will not hurt. Where mine goes it is right under the heat vent, so, I close that vent until I take down my tree.

This may sound silly but it works.
Add (1) cup of brown sugar to a gallon of water.
every other day give the tree about 1/2 cup, and this
should keep the tree fuller and greener throughout
the holidays. You can also get a large misting bottle
and 'lightly' mist over the tree, this also helps.
Don't worry about ornaments and lights, it won't hurt
if you don't overdo it, unless your ornaments have
colors that run..
I've done both for years, and "WALA", a beautiful tree.

Get an artifical one...I know they don't smell as good but they have improved the look of them so much. Some great ones out there & than I buy the stuff you can spray that smells just like a real tree.

Get a fresh tree. The ones you get in parking lots and sidewalks have been cut since October.
