After all it celebrates the pilgrim conquest of North America and the massacre of the indigenous population, and promotes the idea that the non-native Americans have some God-given right over other countries.

What do you think?

Get real in the first place this country was not the ideal utopia that the bleeding hearts would like to paint it as before the Europeans started colonizing. The natives warred on each other long before the Plymouth colony was established. I prefer to live in the present instead of flogging myself for something over which I have no control. Should the Chinese apologize for the Mongol hoards that ran rampant over Europe? Should Egypt beg forgiveness for enslaving the Jews? What matters is how we live in the present not how we color the past.

I guess you would prefer us spend our time beating ourselves over the head for what might have happened. Personally, I have allot to be thankful for and would prefer to spend mine enjoying the company of friends and family and thanking the Lord for them and the life he has provided for us. Happy Thanksgiving

Mired in controversy, thanksgiving must be approached as a wide eyed child, looking forward to the pumkin pie.

most of what you say is correct...... but i would say that during the conquest of north America......

some good things did happen.... for example the founding and formation of our democracy....

unfortunately it was at the expense of all indigenous peoples and African slaves!!!!

exactly... America knows this, therefore they cant say anything about Isreal taking over Palestine otherwise they (USA) would have to really apologize for what they did to the indians... America is helping with everything they got Isreal to take over and keep occupying lands of Palestinians... Hey! they even pay any immigrant Jewish people to come over and settle there (on land they stole from the arabs)
