forget about all these predictions. just try to feed your population and make sure no one is died of starvation and malnutrition.India and China are in the same situation as they both have a large population to feed and a large country to run.

That is VERY unlikely. India has been the beneficiary of world aid in an attempt to normalize them for over 50 years. Plus, what people call British colonization was actually a large scale attempt to industrialize them and bring them in as a part of Britain. It failed and the brits left. The point here is that india is a giant sinkhole of money, manpower and investment. Something (no one seems able to pinpoint exactly what) is wrong with that country that causes them to fail repeatedly no matter how much in the way of resources is directed their way. Such plans to bring india into the western world have failed for decades.
I find it highly unlikely that india will suddenly change and become a western style superpower. More likely, the usual sponsors will tire of trying and india will collapse once the aid money and uneven economic policies (the US in particular sends what amounts to welfare to india by accepting uneven economic/trade exchanges that grossly favors them at the expense of us) dries up.

Yes, they most assuredly will, hand in hand with "pink" China...
The U.S. maunfacturing base is almost gone... the economy is now based on military spending, fast food, and litigation, and the tax rate is rapidly approaching the GNP.... an absolute economic no no.
