Rugby team. The poor girls who play American football wouldn't be able to cope without their precious armour.

Yes, not exactly a well known side, but our School in early 1980 feilded a 5 game tournament, Rugby, Cricket, American Football, Baseball and Netball against a visiting American School side. As for more famous teams, well the 1920's Olympic games, where the Americans fielded an American Football Team in the Olympic Rugby Event (since banned) and became Olympic Champions.

As I understand it, American Football and padding was developed from Rugby because of the number of deaths when the latter was introduced into the USA. I think not only the size but the relentless ruthlessness of the players would give the Americans the advantage. .

The ruggers would win only because they more physically fit.
American footballers are very fit people, don't get me wrong, but they are used to a lot of the shock of being hit being absorbed by mountains of pads and a helmet.
Thus, a rugby player is more effective in throwing his own weight around without hurting himself.

I agree with Jon B, it's got to be Rugby, American Footballers are too well protected, Rugby boys, know how to take a smack, Especially the Rugby League boy's.
As for Danto53, my mum always says, "The bigger they are, the harder they fall!"

Rugby players are tough but the American Football players are just in another league. They are monsters.
The average US football player is 6'1.5" and 245 lbs, they are on average bigger, faster and stronger than Rugby players, by alot.
Rugby players might have more endurance but that's it. In a fight, give me a Middle Linebacker any day over any rugby player.
The only reason that they wear pads is because they HAVE to. They would be killed otherwise.

rugby boys of course. american football guys would probably throw a few slaps and start pushing cos their egos are too big. the rugby boys would reply by throwing a few haymakers and thus knocking out the entire american football squad

An American Football team, considering that about 6 players out of 11 weight more than 250 pounds average. (Those 6 players might weight up to 300 pounds)
