why does a man feel so irrtable and hotheaded when not able to have sex for a long time? I read the testosterone / sperm builds up in the body, any scientific explanation for this as to the effect of too much sperm in the body not being released? Thanks!

Some of the posters here are women and don't know guys.

I would say there is a certain amount of congestion that a guy feels when he hasn't had sexual activity for a while. There is a "fullness" feeling in the genitals, the seminal vescicles and prostate are full and need to be evacuated.

It's not really so much "sperm" building up in the body as it is semen. Sperm are the part of semen, basically microscopic cells.

In young men, especially, they would get frustrated and irritable. I don't know about hot-headed but certainly sex would temper that a little bit (for how long though ??? A guy would need to learn how to rein that in).

I agree with the answer of
ESQ - he's right on that.

guys have a buildup of semen, not sperm. when they have too much inside them they need release to get relief. Especially the young guys under 30 get this way. It's just something - like when you have to pee - you holding it in - but you need to let it out sometimes.

it doesn't matter if the guys jerks off in his hand, or f-u-c-k-s- a girl's vagina or shags a guy in his a-s-s / As long as he lets out his semen somewhere, somehow, he calms down for a while.

so sex is similar to urination - and this all has NOTHING to do with romance or "lovey-dovey" stuff which girls always try to fabricate.
it's just a biological need, like to pee or to s-h-i-t.

don't listen to any womens' replies on this site, they are a different alien species - they don't understand guys' stuff at all.

Take care and be well. , buddy

Being irritable and hotheaded are not characteristics that correlate with lack of sex due to a build up of testosterone and sperm. It is true that the higher the testosterone in human males that they are often more aggressive but it should not lead to irritability. I believe your issues are more emotional and your need to be able to find a partner who can handle your hotheadedness until you mature more.

It will be difficult for you find a sex partner if you continue to exhibit these traits. A women most likely would not be attract to someone who appears to be immature. If you wanted to you certainly could masturbate but I doubt that will change you emotional maturity issue but it will reduce you sex drive for a moment.

Hope this helps you understand yourself

It is not in the sperm or the penis. It is in the mind. Emotional frustration accounts for that "caged tiger" feeling in males. Men are highly programmed to interact with females by our biology. If this basic instinct is denied, the result is anger and excess energy. Control the mind and you control the body.

Probably for the same reason that women get irritable when they go without sex for long periods.....it's not a sperm issue.....try masturbation so you won't be so irritable.....good luck

Who says this condition is restricted only to men? When I don't have sex for a while I get cranky too.
