Imagine sitting in a pub and some one asks "What do you do for a living"? "Oh I'm a bailiff"
Another good one would be "Oh I'm an Indian and I call you frequently on your home phone and ask if you would like a free cell phone"
You wont last long in my pub, get yourself a proper job. Like putting down pets that have gone astray?

Hello,

I think you have to sign up for one of the debit collection industries recognised (authorised training courses) courses, which if I remember correctly is 3-4 days long. There is a short exam at the end of the course which you have to pass before you can become a certified bailiff and work on behalf of a court or for a local authority (as bailiffs are technically officers of the law i.e. conduct or carry out work on behalf of courts).

**To find out where & when courses are run you could 1) contact a local court and they should be able to tell you who to approach 2) you could Yahoo or Google for the national bailiffs organisation or association 3) contact a debit collection agency and ask if they can point you in the right direction.

**hope your a tall chap, well built, with a skin as thick as Rhino's as you will need it. NOT an easy job at the best of times.
