no one lost in space- so far as we know. Russians and chinese are not known for their free press...
rescue in space? depends how the guy would fall and how much extra fuel did the rescue crew have. It might be more economical to leave him be and instead of turning back- pick him up on the next orbit. But it really is a case of vectors and velocities also available space (eg close to the atmosphere) and how much air (etc) the guy has.

No one officially but I doubt the Russians would let everyone know if they lost anyone that way...or perhaps even our own government, and definatly NOT the Chinese.
The first person to ever step outside into outerspace was tethered to the craft and had a CO2 gun to navigate which he found impossible to use and he spent the full 15 minutes just trying to get back inside. You would think you could just shoot a line out to someone drifting away but apparently it's not that easy because we're used to kinematics and dynamics here on Earth, not in space.
Luckily there are many quick ways to kill yourself in outerspace.

It is human nature to let go of situations when they get out of hand. If a golf ball went to earth or mars, what difference would it make ? Because when you're in space, there is no here or there. You realise that you truly are always with yourself and can never loose yourself.

If you were drifting you would be gone cos its too hard to control any direction or movement. Tools ad stuff like that have been lost out there while working on the space station. No humans yet.

Yes.... 4 months ago I was abducted by aliens whilst trekking in the Scottish Highlands..... Their ship travelled so fast that we were soon whizzing past Mars. I managed to escape in a shuttle but I had no idea where earth was as I was so disorientated. Anyway after days of orbiting Mars, another Alien craft came by, they boarded my craft. I explained what had happened and they so kindly brought me back to earth. I will be indebted forever to those who saved me.

The astronaut in my back garden came down to earth with a bump. He was only meant to take a one small step but it turned in to a giant leap.

a friend or relativeâ€â¢s name that has disappeared from the Earth? You havenâ€â¢t had contact with them in decades, but now you want to find out where they are so you can get in touch. In the old days this would have been nearly impossible, but now things are different. There are many different ways to find people lost in â€Ëspace and timeâ€â¢ on the Internet. Some are free and some cost, but the amount of personal information you can find about any individual in the world is astounding.
Besides the simple International White Pages web sites, there are many companies that are masters of locating personal information. Say you used to live overseas when you were a child and you want to see how your best friends from primary school are doing in their lives. You can find out their address, email, and phone number, even about their personal history, like whether or not theyâ€â¢ve got a criminal record! Some might perceive this as an invasion of privacy, like â€ËBig Brotherâ€â¢ in the book â€Ë1984â€â¢, but if oneâ€â¢s intentions are true and positive, I think this can be great for finding buddies, loved ones, and relatives.
Say you met a really nice person on your travels but you lost their address, as long as youâ€â¢ve got their name thereâ€â¢s no reason their existence has to become only a memory. How about that old crush you had on that girl in High School? You can search them out and see their current marital status, and then if all looks good you can try and rekindle that old flame.
There are even sites that help you find out information about your own ancestors. You can get more insight into why you are the way you are after reading newspaper articles centuries old about the exploits of your bloodlines. Maybe youâ€â¢ll come across the name in a family tree of a relative you didnâ€â¢t even know existed. They might even live just around the corner!
Just hit â€Ëfinding peopleâ€â¢ on your search engine and the quest begins. You can search your own name through Detective type agencies and see just how much information about yourself is out there. These agencies pride themselves on finding hard information like your â€Ësilentâ€â¢ phone number! I guess these guys could be going a little too far. For example, one site invites you to search out background information on the person youâ€â¢re just about to start dating. What ever happened to judging someone on his or her actions? How about innocent until proven guilty? Sounds like there might be a little too much paranoia going around.
If used for positive means I believe these â€Ëpeople findersâ€â¢ can be a great help to humanity. I just think we have to be careful about getting a bit to intrusive on our neighbors. Itâ€â¢s none of my business if theyâ€â¢ve been divorced or been to jail.
