Hi Helen,

It is really simple, honest! You need to look at two things:

1. Your temperature. Buy a BBT from Boots and take your temp at the same time every morning when you wake up and make a note of it. Your temperature will rise slightly when you ovulate and will remain higher until your next period.
2. Your mucus. Your mucus will become stretchy like egg white as you approach ovulation. If you are having problems checking your mucus try drinking more water and eating carrots!

The Couple to Couple League have an excellent home study course that I took and can highly recommend. For more information about how diet can effect your cycles read Fertility, Cycles and Nutrition by Marilyn Shannon (available from the Couple to Couple League).

Try taking plain Robitussin medicine starting around 5 days before you are due to ovulate. This will produce more mucus making it easier for the sperm to swim. Also, if you want to be able to understand things a little better/in-depth try reading Taking Control of Your Fertility by Toni Welsch, it has all the answers. Good luck.

Hi There are number of ways. try using Ovulation predictor kits, dont buy them for a chemist internet cheapies are just as good, When you have egg white cervical mucus you are very fertile and you could try basal body temperature charting. read the book taking charge of your fertility, its great!
