Some times it can just be the egg inbedding in the womb....
If your worried go to the doctors just to put your mind at rest, bleeding would be the main concern....

Hi,
Im guessing this is your 1st pregnancy? Those slight pain would probably be cramps or stretching of your uterus to prepare for the baby. This normally happens through out the pregnancy. It shouldn't be too worrying but if you are concerned, you can consult your Dr.
FYI, this is also my first pregnancy, and i was a regular at our local gym. I was still running on the treadmill when i was 2mths. But stopped when I was almost 3mths coz that was when I first found out.
As an aerobic instructor, i assume that you have strong abdominal muscles, so your baby should be okay. You should worry if you experience any bleeding.
Hope this can assure you and Congratulations...

hello congratulations on being pregnant. i am a midwife( but also a very newly qualified fitness instructor teaching ante and post natal aerobics!!) Before i start you must remember that 1:5 pregnancies will end in a miscarriage and if this was to happen stopping exercise will not prevent this or cause this. There are reasons not to exercise but not until later in your pregnancy and your midwife will advice you. When you are pregnant you do experience aches and pains as the uterus grows and the ligaments stretch and soften, this will continue through out,. at only four weeks the baby is tiny - the uterus doesn't even come above the pubic bone until 12 weeks. remember pain can be caused by other reasons not related to pregnancy ie: appendix, urine infections, irritable bowel - so if you start to bleed or the pain becomes worse or you are just worried visit your GP. So carry on exercising and enjoy your pregnancy!!

It could be a number of things. Slight pain can be attributed to stretching ligaments (your body's way of preparing for your tummy to expand), gas (as gas is more common in the early weeks of pregnancy), or implantation pain.
I don't think that it's anything to worry about, though, unless there's bleeding.
You also don't have to stop all of your activities. If you feel well enough to instruct, most doctors will recommend that you stay active throughout your pregnancy. As long as you don't add any additional workout routines to your daily exercise, there's nothing wrong with activity. It will also give you more energy throughout the first trimester.
Ask your doctor, though. All doctors are different with their opinions, but mine told me I could continue to go to the gym. I've been in there four days a weeks since I found out that I was pregnant, and I am now 14 weeks. Crunches are getting a bit harder, but everything else is fine.
Check with your doctor, and let us know how things turn out. Congrats on your pregnancy!

You will feel slight cramps and pain during your pregnancy. However, if you are at all worried go and see a doctor - it really isn't worth taking chances with these things! It is generally advised that you lay off sport for the first trimester.
Congratulations!

sounds normal to me .. why did you stop working you should know that you are safe to do it as long as you rest when you are tired or feel any discomfort.. what ever you did before you can still do ... year ago women used to work very hard in fields up until the day they gave birth and the day after they were back with the baby on there backs... I also have a very physically demanding job and my doctor told me all this...
congrats on your bub

Yes, especially if you are in shape you will get the cramping. It's the muscles in your pelvic area stretching. I fought with my doctor about that with my first pregnancy. I thought I was miscarrying.. He kept telling me I was fine. as long as you don't have cramping that makes you double over or have bleeding youre probably fine. I found out I got that because I was exercising a lot before I got pregnant. I am so envious of you. :-)

Hi, I had the pains in my sides also!!! And my back started hurting from day one!!!
It is normal! The dr's say it's the ligaments stretching & pulling due to hormones & your body getting ready for the birth of your baby!!!
I wish you so much luck!

dont worry hun its your body going through the changes of preparing for a baby, i have had two and both times were uncomfortable, you will get all sorts of aches and pains and of course the morning sickness which can last forever and not just in the morning. if you are at all worried dont fear to ask your local doctor or midwife, they will put your mind at rest with any questions or worries you may have.
good luck with it all.

yes that is normal. that is the same way how i felt when i first got pregnant, i remember always complaining that my sides hurt. and i kept telling my mom that and she was like "oo thats just your period, you going to be starting soon" (i didnt know i was pregnant then) and my period never came, so i went to the health department to take a test, and it came back positive! =] Yay! well good luck to you and i am sure that everything is fine.
