My husband and i are trying for our second child. I have always been on the pill (except when i came off to have my 1st child) so have had no need for condoms. I have now come off the pill to rid my system off the hormones before we try to concieve in Feb so we have to use condoms in the mean time. In the past we have tried using a condom as a laugh just to see the difference and it didn't take us too long to pull it off....we hated it....it felt like a boot (i especially didn't like the tip). My husband is very supportive but we can't hide the fact that we both don't like condoms

Has anyone got any suggestions to help us or can recommend condoms which feel more natural. Having been on the pill for the entire 8 years of our marriage, neither of us has a clue about the various products out there and don't want to spend a fortune.

Durex Avanti were a Godsend for me & the other half.

You can get them anwhere that sells Durex, but they do cost a few quid more.

Like your chap, my other half is always happy to use condoms - but it wasn't great for either of us, he said it took away all sensation for him.

Avanti are made of a different type of latex, it comes up to body temperature really quickly, and is thinner and stretchier than other types. I can't feel it on him at all, and he's a100 times happier with it.

There are many varieties, and sould be equally fun to go look and purchase to try, but whatever you do or don,t do, just think after 8 years of protacted sex, and problems with miscarrying etc.
February isn,t too far away so not too long to wait, surely the dislike of using condoms etc is worth every minute wait, once you conceive and carry baby full term, WOW, who cares what the condom feels like, I know there are many women and men out there who would rather your condom problem, than many of the sad stories and cases, where nothing can be done to help, and those people would do or use anything , no matter what, just to fall pregnant.
Either be prepared for discomfort or abstain till february, so a health happy ending to this story.

Hey

Your best option is to go and see the doctor, there are other forms of contraception without using a condom, also it is much safer to use a condom. There is the coil, which is a tiny little T-Bar shaped thing that goes up your vagina and sits just before the opening of your uterus, something like that anyway. A women can also use a female condom, not sure how that works though, The other option is don't have sex at the moment, but that is very difficult.

There are numbers of condoms out there to use. The condom me and my fiance like best are the Trojan condoms. They have some condoms that are thinner thans others that still give you protection, but also makes it feel real. Those are the ultra thin condoms, another that feels real good is extended pleasure....if you don't want a quick one the extended pleasure makes the penis go numb for a while, it doesn't last real long, but long enough for you both to get pleasure. You could also try women condoms and see how you like it. To me it was a bit weird when I used a girl condom for the first time and after that it didn't feel like it was even there, but he could feel it. My favorite condom is the twisted pleasure condom from Trojan. it just feels so good for the both of us! You can also check into Slumberparties.com and look to see if they have anything you could use! Another thing you could do is the Nuva ring birth control. You use it for three weeks, and you can still have sex while you use it.

The best thing to do is to go to the store and read the boxes....they will say if they have a more natural feel etc. some are super thin...etc...then try a couple of brands...you may be able to just buy one or two to try a few different ones until you find one you can handle....or worst case, what difference will a month make.....go without....if you have been on the pill for 8 years, there is a good chance that it may take awhile to conceive anyway.....good luck
