CO2 is 30% higher than it has been for 650,000 years. Methane is 130% greater. These are two of the main pollutants humans put into the atmosphere in excess, and they are two of the primary greenhouse gases.

Look at the 'hockeystick', which shows a dramatic warming since 1950 after a fairly stable climate for 1000 years. In fact, the 10 hottest years in recorded history have all happened since 1990, with 2005 being the hottest, and 2006 is shaping up to maybe break that record.
(see links below)

How's that for proof of man's fault in this? There is ample proof, any real scientist will tell you that.

There has NEVER been an article doubting man's influence on global warming published in a peer-reviewed journal. A recent study of almost 1000 proved that.

Yes, the earth naturally heats and cools, but the rate and amount we are warming now is unprecedented in the recent geologic past. We are doing this, and we must stop it. This is not some political statement or rhetoric. This is science trying to educate a crass, ignorant public of the damage they are doing. The magnitude of temperature increase ALREADY is about 10x that of the 'little ice age' of the middle ages, and rate and amount are only going up.

Just to be clear, glacial and interglacial cycles are mainly controlled by astronomical fluctuations, but we have a detailed record of the last 7 cycles, and what the climate and CO2 is doing now is way different and extreme. The rate of increase is much higher than in the past AND the value itself is much higher.

Well. The average earth temperature is certainly rising so in essence yes global warming is occuring. Is it because of us is a matter of some debate. The earth has always been heating up (if not we'd still be stuck in the ice age) and whether we've affected it is a problem for scientists of now and the future. The damage for our lifetime has been caused by the Victorians as the carbon dioxide takes a while to have an effect. We must protect the future by doing our bit against climate change - you've heard the ride a bike... etc. - but a volcano erruption causes more damage than anything we can do in 50 years.

depends how you look at it.

is the weather warming up? very slightly yes.

is it serious/ dangerous? most likely no

is it man made or natural? most likely natural

has it happened before? yes. in both directions and in human history
We know for sure that Vikings settled in Greenland in the 1200's and farmed wheat there- for which it would be far too cold today.

We also know that in the 1600's the Baltic sea froze all over in winter, allowing "overland" travel across the ice. Much too warm today for that to occur

No temperature records from those times (thermometers only exist for a hundred years or so) but there is more than enough archeological and written historical evidence of the above

To sum up- IMO the global warming scare is just a scare made up by some people who make a very nice and profitable living out of it. They have made it into a form of "religion" therefore it is beyond questioning and any government refusing to give them money on "research" is treated as a bunch of troglodytes. Nice scam- but only a scam.

Since the beginning of time, the climate has always changed. Is it changing now? Prolly so, but not like scientists have predicted. For the past 50 years claims of global warming have not come to pass as they have predicted. I think the biggest debate would be the causes of global climate changes, no doubt the climate has always changed.

Yes, In fact scientist's studying the recent climatical changes have reported that, Global Warming is approaching a point of no return.

In the minds of the left wing environmental whackos, it is!
The planet has been going through warming and cooling cycles forever. To say that man causes it is rediculous. Just one volcanic eruption puts more greenhouse effect causing gasses into the atmosphere than man ever has. Sure, we might be speeding things up a little, but guess what? As long as man depends on fossil fuels, we are going to burn fossil fuels. So if you drive a car, guess what? you are just as much to blame as anything else. Personally, I LOVE GLOBAL WARMING!

Not sure if it's 'global warming' but about 35 yrs ago, in November for hunting season, there was snow on the ground and it was quite cold. Now, it's warmer and rain and no snow (normally) till mid December or later.
