Buy the yellow Ad Trader which comes out on a Wed & Sat and look in the pets section. I hope you know fully how to care for a tortoise as so many die at the hands of people not knowing their needs. Also be prepared to pay hundreds of pounds for one.

Lot s of zoo s either run an adoption program or point you in the direction of your local tortoise group who can give you the best information on purchase and after care. Thereby giving you and your new pet the best start together.

i got mine in a pet store but be careful some you need a lience for and some breeds like the sulcata can grow to almost 3 feet wide the will dig up your whole garden and eat all day. get a horsefeild or hermans tortoise these are relativly easy to care for and live in a vivarium you also dont have to hibarnate them if you dont wish.

In the UK you can't.

Well actually I think you can but it is illegal to import them so you ave to find someone who has managed to breed one, has the correct licence / documentation and pay a lot of money.
