How does this effect the evaporation??

Because the sky there is warmer, more water evaporates from the ocean, and this makes the clouds. The cool thing about is that the clouds caused by the warmth help shield the area and this helps keep the temperatures cooler than if there were no clouds. The earth was designed with many powerful mechanisms that help maintain life, and this is one of them.

these areas are called the ITCZ's which is the inter tropical convergence zone. it basically means that the air in this area (23 degrees either side of the equator) is constantly warming and rising and so the hydrological cycle is constant and evaporation and condensation is always happening at a great rate.

I used to live in Colombia and it is not true, I mean we have sun, a lot. Right now it is being more cloudy because of EL Nino but usually we have wonderful sunny days all year long.
