Yes, this is a holiday tradition for us. We play it every year on Thanksgiving. It kicks off the holiday season.

One person asked about it being 30 years old... actually, it is 41 years old.

The original album was released in 1967. The Thanksgiving described in the song occured two years prior to that, making it 1965. So really, this year 2006, is 41 years later.

For more information and links to Wikipedia entries, home site for Arlo, and his record label... and by special permission we are allowed to stream the original song once per year on Thanskgivng as a public service to promote the tradition... please visit: http://chat-rock.com/

There are no pop-ups, ads, or affiliate links here, truly a free opportunity to listen to the song on Thanksgiving Day. By special permission from the record company.

Wow. This is the second time on one month someone mentioned Alice's Restaurant. It must be over 30 years old! Whatever happened to Arlo? Is he your uncle?
