cigs and tobacco, sorry I mean't cigs and Alcohol.

Also, please , no lectures on how cigs and alcohol are bad for you.

It's the first thing that crossed my mind.

Funny that they went against their own advisor!

If it is supposed to be "a level playing field", with similar levels of duties etc, how come there's so much difference between countries.

Is there a right of appeal?

Of course this government has proved time and again its dishonesty.
It twists and distorts and massages the figures , it sets one man against another in its efforts to divide and conquer.
We only seem to have disadvantages from the EU.
yes join the EU we can all be equal......4 legs good 2 legs bad

Yes, they were up to their grubby little elbows in it. So, however, were the Swedes, Finns and Danes (plus 4-5 more) who also have higher-than-average taxes on those goods.

With this government anything is possible - yeah I think along those lines. Why would they allow all that tax free in UK when they make millions from smokers.

i do, it is a con we already pay too much tax.
and if we can afford illegal immigrants then we must be paying too much tax
