The shrine and it's museum. The museum is really worthwhile. It has Tibetan sand paintings and other Buddhist paraphernalia. Narita city is actually kind of a nice little town.

If you have an overnight layover at Narita, you can easily take the Narita Express or the Keisei Skyliner into Tokyo. The NEX and Skyliner traines only take about 1 hour. You can see a few great places and experience a tiny bit of Tokyo.

Shinsho-ji / Narita-san temple. walk 15 minutes from JR or Kesei Narita stations.
