Is anyone really as excited as the media seem to think we all are? Its only cricket. Hardly gets your heart racing like the day before the World Cup kicks off. As usual England will be hyped up, people who have no interest in cricket will get swept away in the euphoria (i.e. Wimbledon-like) and it will all be forgotten about within weeks of it finishing. Then we can get back to the footy.

I woke up at five in the morning to watch the first ball of the Ashes. What a waste of sleep.

spoken like a true pom. such dismal attitudes explain why England are so starved of international sporting success. i wouldnt worry too much about the Ashes hype over there Lboy coz you're about to lose them, along with the Rugby World Cup in 2007.

its a tradition-- like people that aren't interested in footy watching the world cup. (you know the really annoying ones who know everything about it-- for a few weeks)
