Coffee;

U.S. News & World, Dec. 19, 2005, report states that coffee can help protect against diabetes, Parkinson's disease, gallstones and some cancers. They found that two cups of coffee a day can dramatically cut the risk of chronic liver disease for those at risk. Lona Sandon, a registered dietitian for the American Dietetic Association, states that "If its benefits continue to mount,coffee may come to be viewed as a health food." A test by Joe Vincent of the University of Scranton, Pa., found that coffee is rich in antioxidants, surpassing blueberries & broccoli, but that chocolate, dried fruits and dried beans rank even higher. Based on a Harvard study of 80,000 American women, caffeine was found to also serve as an antidepressant. Some nutrients found in coffee are Potassium, niacin, magnesium, chlorogenic acids and tocopherols. Some scientists suspect these nutrients may counter the risk of diabetes. What about the fears that coffee promotes heart disease? Studies done here and abroad state coffee has no bad cardiovascular effects. American Filtered or Percolated brewing removes the chemical cafestol, known to raise cholesterol. What about breast cancer? The studies examining the relationship between caffeine and fibrocystic breasts have failed to establish a connection. Experts say there is no evidence coffee cause breast cancer. Also, any links to pancreatic cancer have been weak to nonexistent. Links to osteoporosis based on observations that drinkers excrete more calcium in their urine are tentative at best. A study by the U.S. Government Institute of Medicine on the belief that coffee dehydrates, concluded that coffee quenches thirst as effectively as water and does not deplete body fluids.

Oh yeah, coffee is LOADED with caffeine. Look up the effects of caffeine on the body. Unless of course you're drinking de-caf.

Some people I know drink coffee every single day. This is not healthy.
