As answered elsewhere, the number of channels available depends on the transmitter that serves your area, not the box itself. I suggest that if you have nothing you consider spending a bit more and buy a personal video recorder (PVR). This is a combined freeview box and recorder (no tapes or DVDs) that allows you to record all the freeview channels and pause live TV. It will really change the way you watch tv and record programs. You'll probably find one at argos for well under £100

They all have the same amount of channels, Depending on the area you live you may not be able to get Channel 5, 5 US, or 5 Life. I know we can't get those, also before you buy check that you have a decent aerial otherwise it wont be strong enough to pick up the channels. I have a sagem box which is the best one I've had but it's all down to personal choice.

The channels are the same but the box wont work in some areas and its not just out of the way places. You can check online - there are a few sites and you just type in your postcode.
As for the boxes, we had a secondhand Goodmans which was OK then suddenly broke down - not worth cost of repairing. Now we have a DigiVision which is OK but much more fiddly. The DigiVision drops out a lot more - I think our old aerial is the main problem but the Goodmans seemed to cope with it a lot better.

No channel is often 'risk-free for infants'. TVs should not be used as a newborn minder, you on no account understand what concepts are being seeded. The classified ads are a undeniable issue (flawed meals and snacks, the main present day toy etc.) Take administration over what your newborn is seeing and supervise television time, or cut back it to commonly used classes in basic terms. some freeview packing containers have passwords which you would be able to set to limit get right of entry to to precise channels, yet you're able to elect to nicely known which of them those have been. you're able to desire to obtain a television handbook and look on the fashion of classes on each channel and ascertain for your self.

the channels depends on how good your aerial (out door) is. you can get free view boxes of all shapes n sizes, some are small and you plug the box directly to the scart socket on your TV, which is good if you have no room on your TV stand.
Personally, I recommend getting a free view box that has a built in hard drive and twin tuners as it saves having to set the box to change channels and then programming your video/DVD recorder, also twin tuners allow you to watch one channel while recording another or recording 2 channels at once. shop around for a good bargain.

All the boxes have the same channels, so it usually comes down to brand loyalty or price.

My favourite (and I've had a few) is the Philips.

all of them give you the same amount of channels. The diferance is the functions such as remote control, front panel controls etc. I would recommend that you get one with front panel controls so you can switch it off if you lose the remote control! you can pick up one for £30 in some places.

They don't come with channels, you plug it into your tv and it will search for all available digital channels.
