Don't get rid of anything.
When Cats Use Potted Plants for A Litter Box - How To Fix It - More Everyday Pet Care Solutions
Adapted from The Kitten Owner’s Manual, by Arden Moore (Storey Books, 2001).
The soft, dark soil of your potted plants looks like such a nifty place for your kitty to leave her little offerings that even the best-behaved cat will sometimes develop a yen for using the spider plant to make her deposits. But there are some simple fixes for this common kitty mistake.
Simple Solution:
Find out how to keep your cat out of the potted plants, here:
Just cover the potted soil with aluminum foil (cats hate the texture) or a cardboard cover with watering holes.

Let him outside if you have a front/back yard. Change litter, to more clay less clumping. Cover your plants with plastic wrap around the dirt area. Or just throw out your plants.
I choose cat over plants.

Could get rid of the cat or plants. I took a fresh orange peel and rubbed it where ever I did not want the cat to go. Seems he did not like the orange smell.

Double sided sticky tape around the base of the plants. They hate the feel of it and will stay away.
