Whiskas or Sheba seem to be the best quality.
Sheba comes in a little square foil dish. Is quite pricey. All can be obtained from any supermarket.
(I say seem, as I have obviously never tasted it).

I would chop and change the food. Cats can be fussy and if you feed one food all the time they will refuse to eat anything else. Which is OK until the manufacturer's change the recipe or stop production.
Most of the big name brands are made by purina (felix, whiskers, go-cat) I can't see that they will make one better quality than another.
Oh the other thing about swapping the food about is that you can also feedfresh meat as well.

Iams is the worst thing to give a cat as prolonged use can give a cat cystitis, not nice for you or the cat. Also they were recently bought out by a cosmetics company that use animals in their experiments. So if you want to contribute to the suffering of animals then buy Iams.
I have found in all my years of breeding cats that sometimes the most expensive or brand names are not always the best. I have tried every brand there is, in biscuit and meat, and the one my lot have at the moment is a cheap, pound shop product. But they love it and lick the bowls clean. Even with Whiskas, supposed to be the best, they turn their noses up at it.
But don't stick to one brand or flavour, that just breeds fussy cats. There's nothing wrong with some raw meat. Buy stewing bones from the supermarket and give them to your cat raw, after you've finished Sunday dinner, a bone from lamb, beef, pork etc. will keep a cat happy for ages. Any leftovers from your meals, chicken, potatoes, peas, carrots, gravy, all put in a bowl for your cat.
I work full time as well and run a cattery of 14 cats.

The only food my cats will eat is Gocat in gravy. I usually use the pouches. One of my cats eats the poultry and the other eats the fish. As a special treat I give them Whiskas Oh so fishy or meaty depending on which cat. They both love that. They also have dry food at all times and water. I would never feed my cats raw meat. They can catch their own raw food if they have to. They both like tuna fish in brine well drained though

My cats have James Wellbeloved dry food. It's hypo-allergenic has natural ingredients and best of all its made in the UK so no nasty american crap in it.
For wet food the best one I have found on the market is Natures Menu cat food. It's pricey but it's the best. It has 70% meat in it and has no artificial colours or preservatives. Compared to other foods such as Whiskas which has about 3-5% "meat" (which is really meat by products deemed unfit for human consumption), this food outshines them all.
If you don't have time to prepare fresh meals for your cat everyday, why don't you try making your cats meals for the week ahead at the weekend and then freeze them and defrost them when you need them?

Do not feed your cat IAMS. As already stated they do nasty tests on animals, so in the interest of stopping this cruelty, DON'T BUY!!
I vary my cat's diet, lucky for me she is not a fussy eater - enjoys some banana or anything else she sees us eating! Both dry and 'wet' daily. She adores tuna (I think most cats do) and when different stores have special discount or BOGOF deals it really is economical.
Royal Canin is expensive, but I will be buying some, as the free sample our local pet store were giving are the most sort after 'treat' that our cat loves!
Good luck!

Royal Canin- expensive but wait until you see my cat: coat is shiny, no dry skin, clear eyes and very happy at age 11. Usually available at vet's. Wet food- try Whiskas Singles, those little sachets twice a day. And some treats in between, my cat loves boiled egg and sardines.

I use Royal Canin foods for my cat, its a bit more expensive than most but it is one of the best. They are a soft kibble which comes in many forms depending on age etc of cat. There is a wide variety of foods within the brand to suit every cat. I currently use their Indoor Neutered Male, which I get from the vet, to stop my big cat from getting any bigger. You are better to use a formulated food (wet or dry) to ensure your cat gets the nutrients it needs. Never be tempted to use dog food as it is not good for cats.

James wellbeloved is a favourite of mine.It is a dry kibble. Made from high quality ingredients and containing cranberry extract to help with urinary problems. It isn't the cheapest but if you only have one or two cats, very affordable. As for wet food, then most of the brands in this country are made by only one or two manufacturers. My own cats actually prefer ASDA own brand cat food.
Pleasse do not feed IAMS. For a start it is an AMerican brand, support your own country, secondly, they do horrific animal testing to produce the crap that they sell.

Hill's Science Plan dried cat food is really good. They make different formulations for cats of different conditions and ages. It's economical too as there is no waste. Whiskas individual sachet meat foods are good as ocassional treats. Try Pets at Home a national chain of pet food stores.
